You can probably already see that I have a new theme now. I am using Hakone from Aspire Themes. Additionally, I have moved this website from one host to another. Previously, I was using DigitalPress, but now I have migrated the website to MagicPages, which is a relatively new hosting provider.

One of the main reasons for this move is to enable the use of a custom theme. DigitalPress was more expensive, so I sought out a slightly cheaper option. While hosting directly on DigitalOcean is cheaper than anything else, I have always struggled with updating Ghost on it. I have never been able to do this correctly, so I have given up on this option.

As long as you, the reader, aren't experiencing any trouble accessing my site, and if the experience is better with the new theme, then these changes are a success!

I operate my website as a traditional blog without memberships or newsletters. I find myself wishing for a subscription tier between Starter and Creator on Ghost that caters to blogs like mine. While the Starter tier meets perfect for me, the inability to use a custom theme is a deal breaker. Unfortunately, the Creator tier, which supports custom themes, comes at nearly 3X the cost. The pricing structure, primarily determined by the number of members, seems very perplexing to me. I really hope Ghost changes this.

Hello! Welcome to my blog.

I will admit that I don’t have any concrete plan or theme fixed for this blog. I don’t know what this will turn out to be when I look back several months or a year later. I have some ideas, some stories, and some thoughts, so I just will just focus on writing and publishing. I don’t know how frequently I would be publishing either, I am hoping I can have something at least once a month. Let’s see where this takes me, thanks for joining me on this journey!
